Back in November, Apple faced a lawsuit over audio issues on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Device users complained of poor sound quality, which affected their ability to make calls and access features.
It reached a $35 million settlement in the case with a deadline nearing. Despite this, Apple denied the allegations of the defect.
If you were among the users affected by this defect, you still have a chance to claim payment. But there are some conditions that need to be met.
For starters, you need to have owned an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus between September 16, 2016 and January 3, 2023. You also need to have complained about the issue to Apple before so you can be eligible for the claim.
If you paid for out of pocket repairs/replacements related to the audio issue, you might be able to receive between $50 and $349. But if you reported the problem to Apple and did not spend anything to fix it, you can get up to $125.
Otherwise, if you own either device and did not experience the issue, you are not eligible for the claim. Those who are eligible, however, will only have until June 3 to claim it.
