The Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin (IFA) is scheduled to start on September 5th. But before that date, a lot of phone makers will be converging in the capital city of Germany to unveil their latest products in the hope of generating interest from the press just before the international trade show begins.
Huawei is no exception. As a matter of fact, the China-based mobile manufacturing company has already sent invitations for its event that will take place on September 4. Much excitement (as well as rumors and leaks) have been brewing in relation to the phone maker's Ascend Mate 7 device, which is widely expected to be officially introduced during the company's scheduled event.
But until that date, leaks of the smartphone continue to appear in the Internet. As a matter of fact, just recently, images of the handset cropped up anew, this time highlighting the device's very thin bezels as well as its fingerprint scanner.
Posted on Chinese social media site Weibo, the leaked images show the back panel of the Huawei Ascend Mate 7. It appears that the device's rear cover can accommodate a main camera, an LED flash, and interestingly, what looks like a fingerprint scanner.
There were also shots of the smartphone's front panel. And as suggested by the posted photos, the handset looks to have very thin bezels.
Earlier this year, the specifications of the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 were exposed on the Internet. Based on the leaked specs, the Huawei handset will feature a 6.1-inch display screen with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. Its hardware specs include a Kirin 920 octa-core processor (1.3 GigaHertz), an ARM Mali-T625 MP4 graphics chip, and 2 to 3 gigabytes of random access memory (RAM). The Kirin 920, as claimed by Huawei, is said to perform better than the Qualcomm's Snapdragon 805. Its main camera has a resolution of 13 megapixels. As for the front-facing camera, it packs a 5-megapixel unit.
Whether these leaked specs are legitimate or not, the official unveiling of the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 on September 4 should confirm dispel any doubt about the smartphone's hardware and features. Until then, fans of the soon-to-be-launched Huawei device will just have to wait a little longer.
