T-Mobile held its first Virtual Analyst Day yesterday where it revealed its future plans for the company. Among the announcements it made was to grow its brand in rural areas by expanding their retail footprint in these locations.
One way T-Mo is achieving this is by expanding its availability in thousands of Walmart and Best Buy stores found in rural locations. These brick and mortar stores will be offering T-Mobile’s products and services, as well as that of its prepaid brand, Metro by T-Mobile.
Apart from expanding to these stores, T-Mobile intends to open close to 500 new Metro by T-Mobile-branded stores and “multi-carrier” stores that will cater to their brands (T-Mobile, Sprint, and Metro by T-Mobile) before the year ends. This is their way of reaching new customers that could potentially be interested in their products and services.
As of this writing, there are already four existing T-Mobile stores in rural areas that have been identified as trial stores that will carry Metro’s products and services.
