TCL is making its debut on AT&T and its prepaid brand, Cricket Wireless. Even though it’s been years since TCL has been available in the US, this is the first time its products are offered by these two brands.
Making its debut is the TCL 30 Z, a budget smartphone with a micro-USB connection. Considering it is an affordable device, the TCL 30 Z comes with humble specs.
For starters, the phone has a 6.08-inch HD+ NXTVISION display with a teardrop cutout for the 5-megapixel front-facing camera. On the back, there is an 8-megapixel camera available with 1080p video recording. Powering the device from within is a MediaTek Helio A22 processor with 3GB of RAM, 32GB onboard storage, and up to 512GB memory expansion using a microSD card. It also comes with a 3,000mAh battery and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Upon release, the device will run on Android 12. There are two colors available: Elegant Black and Slate Gray. The back of the device is made of textured plastic. Instead of a fingerprint scanner, the TCL 30 Z will use facial recognition.
As reported by XDA Developers, AT&T and Cricket will be offering the device soon. Although AT&T has not yet revealed its pricing information, many believe that it won’t cost more than $100. Meanwhile, Cricket will be selling this phone for $49.99.
