US Mobile has a new tool to manually switch your network. The feature, tentatively called TelePortal, is currently in its beta testing phase. The company’s founder, Ahmed Khattak, has turned to Reddit users to help him give the feature a name.
According to Khattak, US Mobile subscribers will be able to use this tool to choose a network they wish to connect with. Right now, the MVNO uses the networks of T-Mobile and Verizon. But it is expected to add AT&T as a new network partner soon.
In addition to choosing a network, the TelePortal tool will allow users to switch between a physical SIM to eSIM, eSIM to a physical SIM, or even eSIM to eSIM.
When you’re using the tool to change networks and SIMs, you can expect a brief service interruption. You’ll need to be connected to Wi-Fi the whole time so the migration will not be interrupted.
Another limitation of the tool is that US Mobile will only allow eight network changes per billing cycle. You can also do changes once every three hours. When you change networks, your billing cycle will not reset.
There are still some questions that users want to know about the new tool. But for now, these remain unanswered. We’ll have to wait for more information about the tool once it officially rolls out from the beta testing stage.
