Verizon has revealed its new 5G wearable that it worked on with Motorola. This wearable device aims to bring next-gen connectivity and pair it with headgear or AR/VR glasses. And yes, it’s meant to be worn around the neck.
According to Motorola’s blog post, the wearable is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset with Qualcomm X65 5G modem, which delivers “speed, bandwidth, and low latency of Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband network and mobile edge compute platform to deliver high fidelity immersive experiences that last longer and are ready ‘out of the box’.”
As explained by Verizon’s Vice President of Device Technology, Brian Mecum: “Motorola’s wearable neckband and ultra-lightweight AR smart glasses leverage Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband network and mobile edge compute platform, enabling us to deliver immersive technology in many fields, such as sports training and fan experiences, as well as making VR theaters scalable.”
In the future, this wearable device can be expanded for use with professional and business apps.
