Earlier today, Verizon subscribers experienced an outage. Thankfully, Big Red quickly remedied the situation and has ended the outage.
According to AndroidAuthority, the nationwide outage affected several users close to 8 am ET. The affected users were unable to get a signal on their phones and received a “No service, SOS only” and “Emergency calls only” error message.
Details of the outage can be seen on DownDetector, which also affected Verizon MVNOs. Most of the reports came from the East Coast, but there were some users who received the error message on the West Coast too.
After the outage was reported, some users were able to get back their service but only had access to LTE. It wasn’t until around lunchtime that the outage ended.
Verizon did not issue an official statement on the cause of the outage.
