With 5G network getting all the attention these days, the major wireless carriers in the US are adding more and more cities to their list. The latest to add to their list of 5G enabled cities is Sprint.
Back in May, Sprint deployed its 5G network in four cities in the country. The list of cities that received 5G network include Atlanta, Houston, Kansas City, and Dallas-Fort Worth. Now, it looks like Sprint has added another city to the list.
The latest city to have Sprint’s 5G network is Chicago. With today’s addition, 5G network is now available to Sprint consumers in certain parts of Chicago. These areas include “the historic IL-64 in the north to Stevenson Expressway in the south, and as far as California Avenue in the west to the periphery of Lake Michigan in the east. Sprint 5G covers popular destinations such as Magnificent Mile, River North, Millennium Park, River Front, The Loop, and Grant Park, as well as the neighborhoods of Gold Coast, Old Town, West Loop, Ukrainian Village, Medical Village, University of Illinois at Chicago, South Loop and more.”
As of this writing, Sprint has three 5G devices for use on its network. These devices include the HTC 5G Hub, the LG V50 ThinQ, and the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G. Starting July 12, these three phones will be available in certain Sprint retail stores throughout Chicago and online.
Once you purchase a 5G device, you’ll have to subscribe to one of the 5G plans offered by Sprint. Right now, Sprint offers the Unlimited Premium plan at $80 per month with AutoPay for one line. This plan comes with unlimited talk and text, data, Hulu, Twitch Prime, Amazon Prime, Tidal HiFi, 100GB LTE mobile hotspot and full HD streaming.
Apart from these five cities, Sprint still has plans to deploy 5G network in four more locations in the next few weeks. These locations include Los Angeles, New York City, Phoenix, and Washington D.C.
