When it comes to drawing in new customers, more and more carriers are changing their business model. Thanks to the help of eSIM, it has made things easier for wireless carriers to let new customers try their services before deciding to buy. This is something that various carriers have offered for quite some time now. And today, a new prepaid brand has joined in on this practice.
Cricket Wireless is the latest brand to offer “try before you buy.” The AT&T prepaid brand is allowing both iOS and Android users to test out their service before purchasing.
Starting this week, customers with an eligible device can get a free trial for 14 days at no cost or commitment. Those with an eligible Android device will have to sign up to get a physical SIM card mailed to them.
Eligible Android devices are those that run on Android 12 or newer. To start the free trial, you will need to download the tryCricket app and complete a few steps.
Cricket rolled out the free trial offer to customers back in November 2022. This offer, however, was only available to users with an eSIM-capable device since it made the process of switching carriers a breeze. With the new tryCricket app, Android customers on an eligible device can test out the service too.
The 14-day free trial under the tryCricket app will give you a temporary phone number with 3GB of data that you can use throughout the duration.
Through this free trial, Cricket hopes to encourage more people to switch to the prepaid brand. After all, their tagline reads: “People who come to Cricket, stay with Cricket.”
