Dish Network’s petition to extend the deadline in migrating its CDMA customers has been denied by California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) Administrative Law Judge Karl J. Bemesderfer. Dish has requested for an extension in migrating its CDMA customers off of T-Mobile’s network.
Following this, the CPUC revealed that ALJ Bemesderfer’s decision has no legal effect “until and unless” the item and votes have been heard by the commission. But this won’t take place until the next meeting scheduled for March 17th.
ALJ Bemesderfer’s decision, however, may indicate defeat for Dish: “in this circumstance, we find that it is appropriate to leave the determination of what constitutes reasonable notice of the proposed CDMA shutdown to the federal government. Thus, we deny” Dish’s Petition for Modification (PFM).
Dish has not commented on the matter.
