As more and more smartphones get updated to the latest Android 11 OS, it’s interesting to see the latest devices to get the update. The most recent to join the bandwagon is the budget-friendly smartphone from HMD Global, the Nokia 1 Plus.
This is remarkable news for users of the device, especially since the Nokia C01 Plus comes with humble specs. You wouldn’t expect a device with a 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek chipset, 1GB of RAM and 8GB onboard storage to receive an update to the latest Android OS. But HMD Global has been on a roll in updating just about every Nokia device they released in the last couple of years.
It’s important to remember though that the Nokia C01 Plus runs Android Go edition. This means that the OS update is not the same as the usual update released to flagship models. But this is still a pretty important development for a device like the Nokia C01 Plus.
