It looks like Mint Mobile has quietly added a new “Unnecessary” plan to its lineup. Prior to this, the T-Mobile MVNO only offered four plans. And now, there’s a new plan available to customers.
When the details for the plan were shared by The Mobile Report, it was unclear whether the “Unnecessary” name was simply a placeholder until the official plan gets announced. But then again, knowing this is Mint Mobile, we won’t be surprised if they decide to use this name for the plan. Now that the plan is partially available, it has been confirmed that this is the real name of the plan.
The new plan has been mentioned on the MVNO’s terms of service. The plan is said to offer more premium features compared to Mint Mobile’s current top-tier plan, the Unlimited plan. This means that the “Unnecessary” plan comes with 60GB of high-speed data and 20GB of mobile hotspot per month. To compare, the Unlimited plan only comes with 40GB of high-speed data and 10GB mobile hotspot data.
As for its price, the Unlimited plan costs $30 per month. The “Unnecessary” plan, on the other hand, costs $50 per month. There is an option to purchase the plan for six months or one year to get a discount:
$50 per month (one month)
$270 for six months ($45 per month)
$480 for one year ($40 per month)
