When Apple unveiled the iPhone 14, many were disappointed to know that it came with the same 12-megapixel cameras as the older models. The good news is that Apple has listened to customers’ frustrations and is planning to include a 48-megapixel main camera on the next iteration, the Apple iPhone 15. This report comes from Haitong Intl Tech Research’s Jeff Pu.
With this new camera configuration, the vanilla phones will have better zooming capabilities. But they won’t still be at par with the Pro models since this variant comes with telephoto lenses.
According to the report, Apple will include a 6x periscope lens on the iPhone 15 Pro Max along with the 3x tele lens for the main sensor. The Pro model will also upgrade to a 3nm Apple A17 chipset, thus increasing the RAM to 8GB. Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will be moving up to the A16 chip.
Another thing we can expect for the Pro model is that it will have a titanium case instead of stainless steel. The iPhone 15 Pro may also be equipped with a switch for virtual volume and power.
Pu says the iPhone 15 series should be available in stores by September 23.
