There are circulating reports that T-Mobile has terminated its MVNO partnership with Lyca Mobile. The National Wireless Dealer Association has reported that the MVNO is looking for a new carrier partner. The publication reportedly received confirmation from three separate sources. According to NWIDA, T-Mo told Lyca Mobile to move their subscribers to another network within 90 days.
Lyca Mobile refuted the report and said they have not received a termination notice. However, they did not confirm or deny if they were in the process of looking for a new carrier partner. They also sent NWIDA this statement:
"Lyca Mobile has confirmed that it has NOT received any notice of termination from T-Mobile.
Lyca Mobile values its US customers and assures them that any and all relevant notices will be communicated directly. Should you hear any further rumors, please contact xxxxxxxx "
As reported by BestMVNO, the reason behind this abrupt change remains unclear. But it’s possible that it may have something to do with the lawsuit Lyca Mobile filed against T-Mobile. There isn’t any information about the lawsuit except for this LinkedIn job posting revealing Lyca Mobile global group’s plans to add someone to its litigation team.
Hopefully, things will be ironed out between the two brands and that they can continue working together.
