Earlier today, Verizon Wireless made a major announcement regarding its 5G coverage. In addition to this, Big Red and AT&T agreed to delay its 5G C-Band launch for another two weeks. You can read more about that here.
In its announcement, Verizon revealed that they will offer ultra-fast 5G UWB connection to more than 1700 US cities this month. This will be enough to cover more than 100 million users. Additionally, Verizon will be releasing newly updated 5G smartphone plans, which will offer up to 6 free entertainment subscriptions. Customers will also get up to 50% off its Home Internet service.
The announcement was made in a press release today together with its live YouTube event entitled, “5G Ultra Show.”
“This month, more than 100 million people in 1,700-plus cities around the nation will have access to speeds up to 10x faster than 4G LTE via Verizon 5G Ultra Wideband network. This means nearly one in three Americans live in areas where they could experience the transformative speed, reliability and power of 5G Ultra Wideband on the go, or at their homes or business.”
Beginning tomorrow, January 5th, existing customers can get 50% off on Verizon’s 5G Home Internet service. Big Red will also be unveiling the improvements they’ve made to their 5G smartphone plans.

The new plans have not yet been announced by Verizon. But they should unveil more details about it by tomorrow.
