Verizon has accidentally posted details about Google’s July security update for Pixel phones before Google officially rolled it out—even though nothing landed on devices just yet.
As reported by PhoneArena, Verizon’s own support page revealed the update build (BP2A.250705.008) and said it included the June 2025 security patch, but none of the Pixel models saw it arrive on July 2nd as Verizon suggested.
Two improvements were listed: better smoothing for apps like Android Auto under “Display & Graphics,” and enhanced stability for Wi‑Fi connections. It’s possible the final release might switch to the upcoming July patch instead of June’s, or even add more fixes—those details are still under wraps.
Oddly enough, Verizon’s support page has since vanished, but the leaked info gives us a good idea of what’s coming. The update might finally show up around July 8th—possibly bundled with a battery firmware fix for the Pixel 6a, also expected around that date.
To see if your phone is ready, head to Settings → System → Software Update on your Pixel. Even though the official word hasn’t dropped, this early glimpse should ease any anxiety about what the update brings—and when it’ll arrive.
