Kyocera has unveiled its first ever 5G ultra-rugged smartphone and it’s coming to Verizon Wireless.
The new smartphone, called the Kyocera DuraForce Ultra 5G UW, will work with Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband (UW) network. It is the first rugged device to work with Verizon’s 5G UW network.
The DuraForce Ultra 5G is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor and has a 5.45-inch FHD+ bright display with a scratch proof Sapphire Shield protection. It comes with Military Standard 810H certification, which means it can withstand drops of up to 5 feet directly onto concrete. It also has IPX5/IPX8* for water immersion and IP6X* for dust, extreme temperatures, salt, fog, solar, shock, hazardous work environments, and many more. Kyocera prides this phone as the first device to come with a rugged 4,500mAh lithium polymer battery, which has been designed specifically for surviving drops and shocks.
Camera-wise, the device comes with a 24-megapixel main camera with dual LED flash and a 16-megapixel wide-angle lens. In front, there is an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
