Starting today, Sprint subscribers can now get hold of the HTC One (E8) smartphone. Through its newsroom page, the carrier announced that customers can buy the device online via the Sprint Web Sales website or through telesales. For subscribers who qualify for Sprint Easy Pay, they can buy the HTC One (E8) handset with $0.00 down (including taxes) and payments of $20.84 each month for two years. The carrier added further that the device will be available in Misty Gray and Polar White colors.
With this announcement, Sprint customers should be able to enjoy the many features of HTC One (E8) smartphone. It comes with a 5-inch full HD display and boasts twin cameras, a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
Hardware-wise, the HTC One (E8) is equipped with a 2.3 GigaHertz quad-core processor, 16 gigabytes of internal storage, and 2 gigabytes of random access memory (RAM). It also sports a 2600 mAh battery and HTC BoomSound dual front-facing speakers.
Running on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, the smartphone also has other features like 3G/4G mobile hotspot, wi-fi calling, HTC Sense 6.0, Sprint HD Voice, and Motion Launch.
Many of the features of the HTC One (E8) are similar to the HTC One (M8), but the former comes with a much more friendly price. Case in point, Sprints offers the HTC One (M8) for $199.99 (or $27.09 monthly payments for two years via Sprint Easy Pay), while the HTC One (E8) will only cost $99.99 ($20.84 per month for two years).
When the One (E8) was first launched, HTC positioned the device as a low-cost alternative to the HTC One (M8), its flagship phone. However, the One (E8) was only available in China and Southeast Asia then. Now, it will be introduced for the first time to American customers.
It is only logical that Sprint would be the one to bring this device to US users. The One (E8) model is sold by China Mobile in China and currently supports TD-LTE technology. In the US, Sprint is the only carrier that uses that kind of technology.
