5G has been all the rave lately among wireless providers. The latest to join this however, comes as an unexpected surprise since it belongs to the prepaid sector. Cricket Wireless is now offering 5G for its prepaid customers.
The AT&T prepaid brand promised they would be launching their nationwide 5G network on August 21st. And true enough, they met the deadline without any hiccups. In addition to launching its 5G network, Cricket has revealed that their first 5G capable device is the Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G.
The Galaxy S20+ 5G comes with a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with a 3200x1440 pixel resolution. From within, the phone is powered by a 2.84GHz Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor with 12GB of RAM, 128GB onboard storage, and up to 1000GB memory expansion via a microSD card.
There are four cameras on the back: a 12-megapixel main sensor, a 64-megapixel telephoto lens, another 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 0.3-megapixel VGA depth sensor. In front, there is a 10-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. Other features include a 4,500mAh battery, 2D Face Unlock, in-screen fingerprint sensor, NFC, and water/dust proof resistance. Upon release, the phone operates on Android 10 OS.
