Dish is getting ready to launch its Boost Infinite postpaid service. While the service is scheduled to launch later this year, they have started to accept early registrations as early as today.
According to Bloomberg, Dish has already launched the sign-up page for Boost Infinite. When you open the site, you’ll notice three significant colors in the US: blue, magenta, and red. While there’s no mention of what these colors mean, it’s easy to understand that they signify the three network operators in the country: AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon. The Boost Infinite website also talks about “the power of three 5G networks,” which means it will be using these networks.
Right now, Dish hasn’t fully launched its own nationwide 5G network. Back in June, it was able to hit 20% of its milestone after launching in Las Vegas. The service then expanded to over 120 cities across the US. Dish’s service in these areas, however, were offered as a beta test. By starting to accept sign-ups, it just shows that Dish is getting ready for its true consumer launch. If you do decide to sign up on Boost Infinite’s site, you don’t actually subscribe to anything just yet. This will still happen “fairly soon,” according to one of Bloomberg’s sources.
Launching Boost Infinite is Dish’s plan to become the fourth national wireless carrier. It plans to join the likes of T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon— but with lower prices. As of this writing, Dish has not given any pricing information for the service it plans to offer. All we have to hold onto right now is its promise that plans will be cheaper.
It’s important to note that Boost Infinite is separate from the other Dish-sanctioned product, Project Genesis. As reported by CNET, Project Genesis will be for customers who “want to experience the 5G network of the future” in select markets. There’s no further mention of what this is about.
In the meantime, you can sign up for Boost Infinite on its website.
